Mood-Boosting Foods

End of January is nearly upon us! The first month of the year has flown by already! It all started out well for most of us, sticking to our resolutions and a new healthy lifestyle. Slowly we are getting back into our old habits and we aren’t doing as well as we thought we could. Feeling down and need that extra boost! 

There are a few foods that are great for Mood-Boosting, these are:

Salmon

Salmon is full of Omega 3! The fatty acid is great for your immune system and also combats depression.

Cranberries

These little berries help to keep your bladder healthy and prevent the dreaded cystitis. Urinary tract infections are not fun! Try drinking cranberry juice or put dried cranberries on your cereal in the mornings.

Dark Chocolate 

How amazing that chocolate makes it on to this list! The 80-90% cocoa kind boosts natural serotonin. This chemical is considered a natural mood stabiliser and can help with a variety of bodily functions. Sleeping, eating and digestion.

Oysters

You either love them or you hate them, but they are the sexiest ocean food. Oysters improve dopamine levels, which boosts libido in women and men. 

Shiitake Mushrooms

These mushrooms are packed full of vitamin B, in particular vitamin B6. This is full of serotonin and melatonin that helps you regulate your sleep patterns.
